MOPHONO x URB EXCLUSIVE MIX

“Sometimes one doesn’t need to explain anything in regards to a mix; that’s exactly what’s going on in this amazingly mysterious mix from DJ Centipede aka Mophono. Existing somewhere between the musical worlds of hip-hop, abstract broken beats, UK bass and West Coast flavors, this mix is meant to be heard through its entirety. Fresh, full of all things lush and absolutely perceptive of next-level musical tastemaking, Mophono will bring you to a higher state of melodic and rhythmic consciousness. No tracklist, just listen and enjoy.”

And there you have it. After blowing your iPhone away with this mix catch Mophono along with some top tier guests every Tuesday at Change The Beat. Bong, bong.

SATURDAY: ICEE HOT FEATURING EGYPTRIXX, BRACKLES, & MORE

“San Francisco will once again be privy to some of the finest names in electronic music later this month with the latest edition of the always-impressive Icee Hot party. This time around, the bass-centric night has managed to bring together three performers from three far-away locales–Brookyln’s synthscape mastermind Oneohtrix Point Never, London’s Blunted Robots don and Rinse FM staple Brackles, and Toronto’s slippery house maestro Egyptrixx (pictured above). And of course, joining those three globe-trotting future-music purveyors will be Icee Hot’s resident DJs Rollie Fingers, Shawn Reynaldo, and Ghosts on Tape. Clearly a night of disparate styles sure to please anyone interested in being whisked away by mountains of synths and getting down to gut-rattling bass at the same party. The full details for the event can be found over on Facebook or on the flier above.” via XLR8R

FRIDAY: THE RETURN OF DJ NEIL ARMSTRONG + KING MOST & PRINCE ARIES.

One of our favorite party rockers returns to SOM. for an insane night of dancing and music. Last time Neil was here for our 1 year anniversary it was bananas and packed by 11:00PM.

If you follow DJ culture Neil Armstrong is not a secret, he’s actually a household name. He earned a worldwide following off of original and flawlessly crafted mixtapes, travels country to country representing for Adidas, and even manned the wheels of steel for a gentleman known as Jay-Z. At this point, Neil’s reputation as an amazing DJ proceeds him.
